I'm the single mom of two grown children and the "Memaw" to 5 wonderful granddaughters. I recently retired from The University of Texas after beginning work there when my children were young. I'm excited to be a part of NBMM and life-changing paths these parents are choosing!

I am from Palm Harbor, Florida. I moved to

What are mentors and what is the unique role they play in the lives of NBMM clients?
Mentors are caring individuals who have a sense of humor, empathy, and are able to identify with the wide range of issues affecting single parents. They are able to challenge a client to grow and learn while giving constructive and positive feedback. Most importantly, they understand that the mentoring relationship is a two way street that enriches the life of the mentor as well as the client. By sharing their faith, knowledge, and experience, a mentor can spur clients on to greater levels of personal awareness and growth; the kind of growth that can lead them to create greater abundance in their lives. |
